Powerhouse Panthers Fitness held its first annual 5-K run to support “Centralia Backs the Blue,” a local nonprofit organization founded to support community needs.
Nearly 200 people, including 64 runners packed into the park the morning of Saturday, August 4, to celebrate and support Centralia and its law-enforcement community.
The race started and finished by the south shelter of Centralia City Park.
Centralia’s new police chief, Bob Bias, was there and said the crowd, the event, “were awesome, it really shows the community cares about its public safety professionals.”
“It tells you you’re doing something right,” Bias said afterward when asked if the turnout held any significance for local public safety professionals.
