Two months till Centralia’s Anchor City Cook Off and Pie contest, Oct. 19-20 in Centralia’s town square park.
Meanwhile committee members are looking for sponsors and trying to get word to competitors about reserving a spot at one of the state’s best BBQ contests.
“We are offering early registration discounts to all bbq and pie contestants who register and pay their entry fee by Sept. 15,” posted contest coordinator Matt Stephens on the Anchor City Cookoff facebook page.
Now entering its third year, the contest will pay out around $5,000 in prize money and features:
• A Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned contest, complete with prizes
• A back yard barbecue contest
• The return of the one-bite-wonder contest
• The Kids Que competition
• The pie contest
