Five area players have been named to the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association 2013 all-state teams. In Class 3, Hallsville senior Brendan Beatty was named to the first team. In Class 1, Sturgeon senior pitcher Spencer Kelly was a first team selection. Sturgeon sophomore outfielder Tanner Sandker and DH/utility player Ryan Seidel were second team picks. Sturgeon sophomore catcher William Roberts was an honorable mention pick.

Centralia’s Daymond Dollens shot 78-77 to earn tie for second in the Class 2 State golf tournament. The Panther sophomore was in 10th place after the first round and improved by a stroke on day two at the state championships in Nixa. Dollens finished in a four-way tie for second 10 shots behind Justin Wrozier of Lutheran in St. Peters.
Centralia High School Sophomore Daymond Dollens has qualified to compete in the high school state golf championships. Despite what one observer called a tough course, the Centralia High School golf team came away from the district championships with a berth to post-season play.
