The scenic swimming pool at the Centralia Community Golf Course is now open for business and public use.
The Centralia Parks Department opened the pool for, what its board described as a trial run, Saturday, June 8.
During their May 30 meeting, the board agreed on a $4 per day admission price for the months of June and July, “and possibly August depending on the availability of lifeguards.”
Mike Kinkead, park board president, said the pool will be open seven days a week, though the hours will vary.
• Monday through Friday: 9-11 a.m. will be for aqua size and lap swimming and from 3-8 p.m. will be for regular recreational swimming.
• Saturday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., recreational swimming
• Sunday: 1-6 p.m., recreational swimming
Concessions will be available at the club house, Kinkead said, but alcohol would not be permitted in the pool area.
The pool is also available for rental for private or special events, Kinkead said, but the pool’s future is not written in stone.
