A pair of juveniles playing with an air pistol, combined with a panicked 911 call could have ended badly said Lt. Tim Kribbs of the Centralia Police Department.
He was referring to a 911 call, from a person he described as a “panicked juvenile female,” who
called about a young man carrying a pistol in the Bradford Street area of central Centralia.
The call came in 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, Kribbs said, and CPD officers Zach Foltz, Landon Enochs and Logan Feger responded to the call.
When they arrived on the scene they found two juvenile males, approximately 16 years old, Kribbs said, one from Centralia, the other from Mexico.
They disarmed the two males,” Kribbs said, “the Mexico male was the one holding the BB pistol.”
He said the CPD officers had drawn their weapons when they saw the air pistol displayed.
“They had to take the gun from him at gunpoint,” Kribbs said, “Because they did not know if it was real or not.”
