One question on the minds of many regarding the Centralia R-VI School District is “Where do we go from here?”

The Fireside Guard decided to ask a trio of school board members for their thoughts on that topic.

Jed Angell, Erle Bennett and Justin Romine-board president, made the time to discuss the topic with the Fireside Guard.

“The only thing we can do is meet and talk,” Bennett said.

He said discussion would best serve the tax-payers if it focused on two topics:

  • Look at what we need
  • Figure out a way to pay for it.

“We have a couple lists from our building principals of things that need to be done,” Bennett said, “things they say they need to do their jobs and get our curriculum taught to their students, as well as real repairs needed for their buildings. They have been tasked to make sure our teachers meet our curriculum.”

Bennett said he understood there are differing points of view on the board, but said that can be worked out.
