Barbara Adams is promoting a program connecting volunteers and causes
Those who serve think they are helping others, but they receive something as well, they are blessed for their service.
That is a loose paraphrase of what long-time Centralia resident Barbara Adams said when
discussing JustServe, a locally ground breaking attempt to bring volunteers together with projects, events or institutions that could benefit from a helping hand or two.
“At JustServe, we believe that nothing should get in the way of organizations and volunteers coming together to do good things for the community, so we help make this happen for free,” Adams said, quoting the organization’s website, justserve.org
Adams, a retired school reading instructor, is an avid volunteer and has lived in Centralia for 43 years.
She is a fan and representative of the program, which was introduced to her while she was volunteering at a Columbia hospital and Habitat for Humanity.
