Three mayors, two city administrators and 13 years of serving Centralia’s residents ended for Randy Adams this week.
Adams had spent the last 13 years running the city’s water and sewer plants, making sure Centralia’s water was safe to drink.
A life-long Centralia resident, Adams credits former Centralia City Administrator Lynn Behrns and Mike Forsee, city water foreman for giving him the opportunity to have a career with the city.
“I am blessed,” he said. “How many people get a chance to do something they love with people they enjoy? And I owe it all to Lynn Behrns and Mike Forsee giving me a chance.”
While Forsee called Adams’ work for the city, “outstanding,” Adams was very humble regarding the accolades his now former co-workers and current city administrator Matt Harline heaped upon him during Adams’ retirement luncheon at city hall the afternoon of December 27.
“Not me,” he said humbly, responding to the praise. “I am in awe of the people who came before me, my predecessors at the water plant like Leon Braden and Lee Bryson. They were a very big help while I was learning.”
Nevertheless, Forsee said, Adams was special.
