Centralia’s historic Avenue of Flags is scheduled to rise and many hands make for light work.
The avenue goes up, 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8 to commemorate Veterans Day, weather permitting.
This year, instead of the nearly 500 flags that typically go up, volunteers may only be raising fewer than 30 said
Phyllis Brown, cemetery sextant and Avenue of Flags organizer.
“Due to potential very bad weather we will only be raising flags to commemorate those veterans killed in action.”
