It is time to learn things.

No school has not started yet, but the signs are appearing.

One such hint of upcoming educatinal activity concerns Centralia’s Chester Boren Middle School

The CBMS staff has scheduled their annual sixth grade orientation for  6:30 pm Monday, August 6, at CBMS.

“We will be introducing our new sixth graders to their teachers and familiarizing them with the programs and expectations of the middle school,” said Nathan Gordon, CBMS principal. “It is a great opportunity to start the year off on a positive note.”

Upon arrival, students and parents will check for the student’s name on posted class lists. Students and parents will then pick up their schedule, locker assignment, planner, binder & dividers ($10), and picture form from their first period teacher and put supplies in the student’s locker at this time. There will then be a short meeting for all sixth graders and their parents in the gymnasium.

After introductions and an overview in the gymnasium, students and parents will report to the first class on their schedule. Teachers will then have about six minutes to give a quick impression of their class as students and parents rotate through each of their core classes.

Orientation is a valuable tool for our new Sixth Graders so that they are prepared to begin their education in a new building. This function is also designed so that students and parents may become acquainted with the staff at Chester Boren Middle School. We look forward to seeing you on August 6.
