CHS seniors garner more than $300,000 in scholarships

Some of the Centralia High School class of 2020 scholarship and academic awards winners after the awards ceremony June 12 at CHS’ Miller Field. CHS principal Matt Smith said 59 percent of the students planning to continue their education were granted scholarships or awards, with a first-time value over $344,000, with over $90,000 coming from local sources. Some scholarships are renewable, and if the student fulfills the conditions of renewal, the total value of scholarships granted to the Class of 2020 could be $986,000.
