Brigadier General Ret., US Army National Guard, Larry Kay, has served as President of Veterans Home Care® since January 2018 to assist Veterans and Surviving Spouses to stay in their homes and live with dignity. Larry is uniquely qualified to serve veterans and their surviving spouses having extensive health care leadership and Veterans benefit experience in both his military and civilian careers.
In his civilian career, he has over 30 years of experience in healthcare administration and veterans benefits focusing on strategic planning, operational leadership, team building and communications. He has specific backgrounds in emergency services, acute care, skilled nursing care and clinic leadership and operations.
Larry retired from the Army National Guard in 2010 at the rank of brigadier general after serving as the senior U.S. Army commander in the Balkans. In 2008, he led a Brigade sized U.S. combat team of active duty, National Guard and Reserve Airmen, Marines and soldiers from seven states and six partner nations in support of NATO peacekeeping operations in Kosovo.
Larry is qualified in both the Huey and Blackhawk helicopters, serving during Desert Storm as the executive officer for the 1267th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) 1990-1991, executing aerial evacuation of wounded, transportation of critical medical supplies and aerial search and rescue in the combat zone.
Larry and his wife Karen live in St. Charles and have three children and one Grandchild.
