CPD pursues clues on Dos Arcos burglary

Centralia’s lone Mexican restaurant, Dos Arcos, was recently broken into and an unspecified amount of cash and the safe containing it was stolen.

Bob Bias, chief of the Centralia Police Department said CPD officers are still investigating the Friday, July 26 break in.

Bias said the break in occurred sometime after the restaurant closed for the evening.

The investigation is progressing and they are searching for a person of interest, he said, but there are complications.

Besides Dos Arcos’ internal security video, he said the CPD is also reviewing security video footage from neighboring businesses such as Break Time, Eagle Stop and McDonald’s.

“We know there were at least two perpetrators,” he said. “We have video of them ransacking the office and sliding a large safe out of the restaurant office. Both, however had their faces and heads completely obscured so we cannot identify them.”
