Centralia will again host the Missouri State Time Trial, this Saturday, August 4. Starting at 9 a.m., the first of more than 100 high-level cyclists will head west on Route CC from Boone County Fire Protection District Station.
The State Championship course is a 12.5 – 20 kilometers out and back on Missouri Routes CC and V.
Senior categories will race 25 miles – 40 kilometers, Junior categories and select Masters Categories will race 12.5 miles 20 – kilometers. Both distances will have a turn around mid-distance. The course is primarly flat with gentle rollers and five wide open turns. The course is on quiet, scenic, rural roads that have very few intersections and very light traffic starting just west of Downtown Centralia.
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers per category. For fields that have three or more participants the winner will receive a Missouri State Championship Jersey. Non-Missouri residents are eligible for placing, but not medals or jerseys.
Competitors are asked to remember and abide by Merckx Category Requirements- no Aerobars, no Aero Helmets, no Skinsuits, no Shoe Covers and no wheels with over 28mm rim depth. No debating. Just ride fast non-aero like Eddy. Also note – Categories will be separated or combined accordingly for BAR scoring.
