Demolition bid accepted for Centralia’s Narragansett Building

One piece of storied city property is about to meet the wrecking ball.

Heather Russell, Centralia city administrator announced the city has retained a firm to demolish the Narragansett Bldg., on the corner of Railroad and Jenkins Street. The $78,000, also includes demolition of the Stowers garage west of the intersection of Jenkins and Switzler Street.

Russell said the winning firm is JT Holman Construction & Excavation out of Macon.

“The contractor has 60 days from October 3, 2019 to have the project completed,” Russell said. Once the demolition day has been set, the notice will be  posted.”
