Filing for area public offices has begun

Candidates for local office have begun appearing at local city halls and school board offices.

They have begun filing for public office at Centralia, Hallsville and Sturgeon.

Voters took their ballots and cast their votes last November in Thompson.

The final day one can file for office is Wednesday, January 21.

At Centralia City Hall three aldermen’s seats are up for grabs Don Bormann, Ward 1, Donnie Rodgers, W-2 and Landon Magley, W-3.

So far, only Magley has filed to retain his seat.

Christina Stevens has filed for the Ward 1 seat.

Additionally, Andrew Stanton has filed for Centralia Special Road District commissioner.

At the Centralia R-VI School Board, another three seats are available. The terms of board members Erle Bennett, Jason Hedrick and Justin Romine are all expiring…
