Lady Indians win 56-36, boys win 60-40
It was a good night to be a Hallsville Indian.
Tuesday, January 7, Hallsville hosted the Moberly Spartans for boys and girls basketball.
The Lady Indians led the entire night. They topped Moberly 18-7 in the first, 32-18 in the second, 49-31 in the third, finishing Moberly by 20, 56-36.
Avery Oetting led the Lady Indians with 19 points, supported by Taylor Jones with 12 and Hope Crane with nine.
Aleesia Oliver led Moberly with nine.
The Lady Indians are now 9-3.
On the boys side, Hallsville hit early and hard. After Cooper Crane set the pace with a pair of opening jumpers, Hallsville scored 14 points before Moberly got on the board.
Moberly got into the game in the last five minutes of the first, but never caught up. Hallsville led all night.
The score by quarters was: 18-7 in the first, 32-18 in the second, 49-31 in the third, with Hallsville finishing them 60-40.
Jaylen George led Hallsville with 14 points, supported by Crane with 12 and AJ Austene with 10.
Hallsville is now 8-4.
