Hallsville wrestling stacking wins

The Hallsville Indians wrestlers were back in action Tuesday January 2 in Hallsville with dual wins against North Callaway and Palmyra and a loss to Marceline.  The Indian wrestlers beat North Callaway 36-18 and Palmyra, 42-21. They lost to Marceline, 52-24.

performance dominating his Marceline opponent with a :55 pin against a tough opponent he only beat by two points last year. His lone loss came to the #6 wrestler in the state. Andrew was controlling the match and simply got caught in bad position.

At the January 6 Marshall tournament: the Indians made their annual pilgrimage to what Head Coach Davd Nugent called “Tthe always tough Marshall Tournament.” Luke West-145 led the making his third finals appearance and winning his second title by defeating the #1 Class 2 wrestler in the State in the finals 7-6. Luke recorded four pins to punch his ticket to the finals.

Andrew Huddleston went 4-1 on the day to win bronze. Andrew was in one of the toughest weights in the tournament and beat some very solid kids. His lone loss was a 9-1 loss to the #4 Class 1 wrestler in the State.

Lucas Pemberton-126, Trent Rowland-138, and Ian Hayden-182 finished fourth. Trent had three pins on the day and Ian had two.
