Hundreds helped at Centralia school supply give-away

The line flowed from the back door, wound down the sidewalk all the way onto the back parking lot of the Centralia United Methodist Church.

It was a sign of one of those Centralia traditions that keep on coming, and in this case keeps on giving.

The parents, sometimes grandparents, sometimes friends of the family were lined along the sidewalk for the church’s annual school supply give-away.

Though the giveaway happened the afternoon of August 19, it had, under the experienced eye of program organizer and lead volunteer Mary Ann Sander, in process for most of the preceding year.
