In recent years our church has picked a theme for the year. This year our theme is a scripture verse, First Corinthians 16:14. That verse speaks of doing everything with love as the motivation for doing what we do. First Corinthians chapter 13 speaks of the

word charity in the King James Version. The word charity is translated as love. However, charity actually means much more than love. It means “love in action” Not just saying, “ I love you”, but also showing love in practical and meaningful ways that can make a difference in someone’s life.

The message that Paul the apostle intended and that was inspired by the Holy Spirit focuses on the motive behind our actions. We may have great faith and we may exercise and operate in the gifts of the Spirit. We may be spiritual giants in our knowledge and wisdom. We may have great talents and skills with which we hope to give great glory and honor to God.
