Lose to South Callaway, 65-54
The Sturgeon Bulldogs boys basketball team spent Tuesday night trying to give a clinic in come-from-behind basketball.
They started the game with a nine-point deficit behind the South Callaway Bulldogs.
Though they tied the game several times in the first half, Sturgeon could never put South Callaway away and while in most of the second half it looked like it would be a three, two or one-point ballgame, South Callaway won, 65-54.
South Callaway led all four quarters, 12-7 in the first, 24-21 at halftime, 48-41 in the third.
Blake Darwent led Sturgeon with 16 points, followed by Jacob Smith with 14 and Ben Doss with 10.
Trynnen Gray led South Callaway and the game with 19.
Sturgeon next plays Paris, 6 p.m., Thursday at the Sturgeon Elementary School gym.
