Interim Pastor Robert Hudson, Littleby Baptist Church
“You don’t give Your heart in pieces, You don’t hide Yourself to tease us.” – Bethel Music ‘Pieces’
God gave us everything. He gave us ALL of His heart when He created us, not just bits and pieces!
What more could we ever need? Jesus died for us to pay the price of our sin. He Paid our debt in full. Not some partial payment with a balance due, He paid all of it. He did not give us pieces; He gave us everything.
If God has given you everything, how much are you giving Him?
Have you given God every part of your life or are you only giving Him the pieces you want? Do you give Jesus every hour of every day or only when you go to church? Are you honoring Him when you are with your ‘church’ friends and your ‘other’ friends? How about when you are alone, is that a piece of your life that you are giving to God or keeping to yourself? Do you come to Him when you are sick but not when you are healthy? How about when all your needs are met, is that yours or His?
“And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17 CSB
Every word from our mouths need to honor God. Our deeds and actions regardless of who we are with, need to be done in the name of Jesus. If every word and every action is being done in His honor and in His name, there are no pieces being held back.
God did not hold anything back from us; we need to not hold anything back from Him.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30 CSB
Give God every piece of your life. God loves you and does not want you to hold onto that garbage. Yes, you might like that garbage but that is exactly what it is when you compare it to what God wants to give you. It will hurt to turn over those pieces of your life, but if you are loving God with your heart, soul, mind, and strength it gets easier. The more you hand over to God the closer you are to Him. As you draw closer to God you will receive more of the Fruit of the Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.” – Galatians 5:22-23 CSB
Can you use more of these in your life? I know I could! All of us could you more love, joy, peace, patience, and so on… in our lives. All of us can use more Fruit of the Spirit in our lives.
Give God every piece of your heart and life. Don’t hold anything back! Give Him your all!
How do you give all of it to God?
Pray for God to reveal what in your life you are holding back.
Ask Him to help you give it up.
Dig into His Word.
Talk to your pastor or another leader.
Ask someone to hold you accountable.
Spend time with God, talk to Him, and read His Word daily. As you draw closer to Him, it will be easier to give God your pieces. Hold nothing back and let God work!
