Not a roller-coaster, not a Nantucket sleigh-ride, but a Sturgeon sleigh-ride. Spectators may have been looking over their shoulders to see if ambulances were pulling up to treat audience members for vertigo.
That was what Saturday night basketball in Sturgeon was like for the championship game of the 2019 Sturgeon Tournament, which the Sturgeon Bulldogs won, 59-48 against Community R-VI.
Sturgeon fans left the gym happy because Sturgeon won,
Community R-VI was up 10 to Sturgeon’s 0. Sturgeon got up by 12. Community caught up and was down only four, eight to Sturgeon’s 12 by the end of the first. Sturgeon got up again, Community caught them again and the score was 30-29

When it was done, Kenny Stone led Sturgeon with a game-high 19 points; followed by Jacob Brooks with 11 and Jake Snider with seven.
Community’s Eric Hombs and Blaze Escamilla led Community with 15 each.
