The Sturgeon R-V School District hosted the first track in district history the afternoon of Wednesday, April 3.
Besides Sturgeon, five teams participated: Glasgow, HIgbee, Madision, Northeast R-IV and Salisbury. All schools field boys and girls teams.
In the boys division, Sturgeon took fifth with 59 points, behind Higbee – 60, Madison – 61, Northeast – 76 and winner Salisbury – 121.
In the girls division, Sturgeon placed sixth with 37 points, behind Glasgow – 55, Madison – 65, HIgbee – 67, Northeast – 83 and winner Salisbury – 116.
Sturgeon had 12 top-three finishes for the boys. Dakota Perry first in the shot put and first in the discus; Braden Singleton- third in the 200 meters; Austin Heuer, Isaac Bolles, Braden Singleton, Dakota Perry, third in the 4×100 relay; Skyler Smith, Andrew Nedrow, Kaleb Vaughn, Kayden Miller, third in the 4×200 relay; Smith, third in the high jump.
For the girls, they had seven top three finishers: Madison Horn, first in the 800 meters; Jalissa Woods, second in the high jump; Shelby Bailey, third in the shot; Madison Horn, Shelby Bailey, Gabby Antle, Woods, second in the 4×100.
