June Current, 90 of Sturgeon passed away, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Sturgeon Christian Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

June was born on April 9, 1934, in Sturgeon, the daughter of Ben F. and E. Juanita (Halloway) Owings.

June was a graduate of Sturgeon High School. On September 6, 1952, June married Kenneth Ray Current and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1991.

June is survived by her daughter, Linda Crigler and husband Ted of Centralia, granddaughter, Katie Rummerfield and husband Cody of Robins, IA, great-grandchildren, Zayden Crigler and Aisley Crigler both of Oklahoma.

Along with her husband, June was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Justin Crigler, a sister, Carol Winn and a niece, Karen Abercrombie.

June was a member of the Sturgeon Christian Church. She was chosen as citizen of the year in 1992 for Sturgeon. June retired from Sturgeon State Bank after 29 years in 1996.

June really enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center and working in her flower garden.
