GLENDA FAYE CASTROP

Glenda Faye Castrop, 78, of Hallsville went to be with the love of her life, Joe, on Monday January 13, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
 A Catholic Mass will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 17, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia with burial to follow in the All Saints Cemetery in Glasgow.
 A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia with a Rosary to be recited at 4:30 PM.
 Glenda was born on February 24, 1946, in Licking, Missouri, the daughter of Glen Wilmer and Francis Margaret (Richardson) Bates.
 On April 4, 1964, Glenda married Joseph Castrop and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2023.
 Glenda is survived by four children: three girls, Thersa Diane Wells (Jerry) of Fulton, Missouri, Sandra Sue Herring (Pete) of Hallsville, Missouri, Josephine Rena Scott (Michael) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and one son Joseph Bruno Castrop of Olathe, Kansas. She has three grandchildren Ethan Wells (Fallon), Emily Carlson (Brian) and Joshua Herring, she has two great grandsons Benjamin Andrew, and Leo Joseph; siblings, Linda Kay, Shirley, Jim, Pat, Bill, Henry, Amy, Norman, Millie, Glen, and Carol.
 Glenda was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church; she retired from Shelter Insurance Company. She was a founding member of the Boone County Fire Protection Station 3 Women’s Auxiliary. She was also a past board member for The Bluffs. Glenda was a fighter for change and an advocate for a better Boone County.
 She enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially her favorite driver Martin Truex, Jr., and the Kansas City Chiefs. Glenda also enjoyed reading and working with flowers.
 Memorial donations are suggested to the All Saints Cemetery in Glasgow, or Coyote Hill and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
