DAVID KENT NELSON
David Kent Nelson, of Lebanon, MO passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 66. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
David, son of Raymond and Bonnie Nelson, born July 3, 1958, in Centralia, Missouri. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1976. After high school he moved to Lebanon where he was hired at Detroit Tool, working there for 25 years. Later he worked for Lowe’s Boats, retiring after 10 years.
David is proceeded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bonnie.
He is survived by his devoted life partner, Betty of Lebanon, MO; His brother, Mike Nelson of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; his beloved sisters, Patty (Louis) Weaver of Little Rock, AR and Rena (Buzzy) Cone of Columbia, MO. His children, Jesse Nelson, Gene (Anissa) Joiner, Bennie (Jess) Joiner, Virginia (Megan) Bartel, John (April) Joiner, and Steven (Heather) Steinmark, all of Lebanon, MO and Billy (Heidi) Joiner of Flippin, AR. 28 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
David was a man who truly embraced life. He was known for his joyful spirit and warm heart. He never met a stranger. He found joy in the simple things spending time with grandchildren, working special projects, and living each day to the fullest. He had a gift for humor, always joking around and making his kids laugh, filling their lives with joy and unforgettable moments.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his boundless energy and the warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30am Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Second Baptist Church in Lebanon.
