WILLIAM RAY MAHIEU

William Ray Mahieu, 87, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in his home. William was born on August 12, 1937, in Guymon, Oklahoma to Leo Alvin Mahieu and Virginia Guy Mae Mahieu. William graduated from Parsons High School in Kansas. He graduated Cum Laude from Kansas State University where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineer­ing. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard for six years. He was a registered professional engineer and practiced in Kansas, Ohio and Missouri. Throughout his career he secured six patents. He was a voracious reader and he could often be found in a corner with his legs crossed deep in a book. He was a published author of two books, an avid gardener, lover of trees and an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
 He was united in marriage with his “dear”, Judith Ann Baity, in 1959. He used his talents and dreams to design and build their home on Wilder Farm where they have resided for more than 50 years. William is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Judy, of the home, their four children: Martin and wife, LeeAnn; Brian; Heather and husband Jeff Cline; Susann and husband Gene Briseno and daughter-in-love, Jane Guyer Mahieu. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Emily and Tommy Cochran and their children, Ezra and Elijah; Timothy Briseno; Jonathan Briseno; Hayden and Marissa Mahieu and their child, Judah; Nathan Mahieu; Michael Mahieu; Hilary and Greg Hedberg and their children Gradon, Annalee and Graham; Dylan and Lindsey Kempker and their children, Ava, Laya and Maddylan. William was an eternal optimist and encourager to all.
 Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on June 23, 2025, with visitation at 10 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Centralia City Cemetery.
