1. Discuss the qualifications you offer to the students, citizens and staff of the Centralia R-VI School District. Example: your educational background, previous community service, work experience, etc.  As a lifelong resident of Centralia, my primary education was completed in this district. Along with receiving a top notch education, I was taught respect, confidence, work ethic and commitment to community. Before leaving for any school related-trip I can remember hearing the words, “Remember who you are and where you are from.” We were proud to be from Centralia and I want future generations to carry that same sense of pride. Shannon Dawson

1. Discuss the qualifications you offer to the students, citizens and staff of the Centralia R-VI School District. Example: your educational background, previous community service, work experience, etc. My career relates to finance and risk management, which are two qualities that would enhance my ability to make critical decisions and provide key oversight as a member of the Centralia School Board.  After graduation from Centralia High School, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Central Missouri.  After graduation, I worked for the federal government as a national bank examiner, where I was tasked with evaluating the performance of several Midwest banking organizations, with a specific focus on their financial performance.  I then moved to a financial institution in Kansas City …

I graduated from CHS and continued my education by getting a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. I have worked at Hubbell/Chance for the past 16 years in multiple leadership positions. Example: your educational background, previous community service, work experience, etc. I have strong desire to serve our community and serve the Centralia School District.  As a graduate of Centralia High School, the education I received at Centralia both in and out of the classroom has served me well and I want to do my part in ensuring all students, current and future, are afforded the same or better quality of education that I received.  Following high school, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science with a minor in History from Columbia College.
