PAUL D. ROBERTS

Paul D. “P.D.” Roberts, 84 of Centralia passed away at the Jefferson City Manor on February 24, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Family and friends are invited to P.D.’s Life Celebration, 1:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2025, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday.
P.D. was born on June 5, 1940, in Clark, the son of Forrest Chandler and Zallie Inez (Meeks) Roberts.
On May 29, 1959, P.D. married Kathryn Atkinson in Centralia. They were married for 65 years, and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2020.
P.D.is survived by a daughter, Sharon Marie Bertels (Paul) of Jefferson City, a son, Michael Ray Roberts of Jefferson City, grandchildren, Amber Pearre (Jake), Derek Bertels both of Jefferson City, Ashton Wilmsmeyer of Fulton; great-grandchildren, Reece and Zaylee Pearre of Jefferson City, Aubrey Bertels of Iowa, Kayden Singleton of Fulton; Brother-in-law, Jerry “Squeaky” Atkinson of Mexico; niece, Carrie Million and husband Paul of Centralia; numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with his wife Kathryn, P.D. was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Lee Roberts and Forrest Chandler Roberts, Jr.; two sisters; two cousins, Thomas Wayne Patton and Lannie Patton.
P.D. lived in Centralia since 1945, he loved Centralia Football and was extremely proud to serve as a Centralia Volunteer Fireman for over 10 years. P.D. enjoyed helping the fire department do the Santa deliveries around town.
P.D. worked at MODOT in Maintenance for over 37 years, he helped Rodgers Rentals for many years as well, and in his younger days he would help his father with the pony rides at the Centralia Fair. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Royal Ambassador and was a member of the Centralia Jaycees.
P.D. was an avid fastpitch softball player and bowler, he liked camping, fishing, mowing his yard, watching NASCAR, going to the Old Threshers, attending truck and tractor pulls. P.D. was instrumental in the revitalization of the north baseball field.
P.D. was very giving and kind and never met a stranger, he was known to be a bit stubborn and hardheaded as well.
He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was especially proud of his great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Jefferson City Manor and Bristol Manor for their exceptional care they gave P.D.
