BETTY IRENE POWER

Betty Irene Power, 94, of Thompson, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Keeling officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at Indian Creek.
Visitation is Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Betty was born on June 13, 1930, in Red Cloud, Nebraska, to William and Ruby (Curtis) Galbraith. She was united in marriage to Charles Eugene Power on June 7, 1948, in Indian Creek, Missouri. Charles preceded her in death on October 6, 1996.
A devoted wife and loving mother, Betty dedicated her life to raising her 10 children. She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and had a passion for crocheting, quilting, sewing, and playing Bingo. Betty loved her dogs and cherished time spent with her family. She was also known for her heartfelt poetry, having written many poems over the years and was recognized as a publisher in the “Who’s Who of Poetry.” She also donated many crafts to members of the community that were near and dear to her heart.
Survivors include eight children, Randall (Clarita) Power of Florida, Sheila (Charles) Marquette of Mexico, Doris Eisenhauer of Mexico, David Power of Mexico, Phylliss (George) Vanderhook of Benton City, Patrick Power of Thompson, Laurie (Dave) Perry of Gilbert, AZ and Marty (Kristin) Power of Auxvasse; daughter-in-law, Carol Power of Thompson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; half-sister, Barbara Mooradian of California; two sisters-in-law, June Galbraith of Colorado and Mary Nell Power of Perry; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her husband, Charles, Betty was preceded in death by one son, Michael Power; one daughter, Nancy Power; two grandsons, Tommy Power and Micheal Eisenhauer; two great-grandsons, Camden Power and Jaxson Eugene Power; father, William Galbraith; mother, Ruby Mclean; step-father, Hector Mclean; son-in-law, Lindell Eisenhauer; two brothers, Harvey Galbraith and William Galbraith; two sisters, Lola Stewart and infant Charlotte Galbraith; one niece, Gail Gisi; and one nephew, Ronnie Gisi.
