Andrew Scott Wang of Springfield, Mo. passed away November 10, 2022. Andrew was a teacher in the Springfield area since 1974. His motivation to teach was only exceeded by is pride in his student’s successes. Andrew was a firm believer in early music exposure and education; to shape the young mind. He was a founding member of Springfield Community Jazz Ensemble. Andrew was Band Director at Hallsville, Mo. 1974-1981, Pleasant Hope from 1981-1990, and Springfield Lutheran School until 2022. He was baptized into Lutheran faith by S. Moser at Redeemer Lutheran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Wang and Esther Polovoy Wang; brother Stephen Wang; and a grandson Jackson Daniel Stuckenschneider Careaga.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elaine Wang; son Jacob and Anika Careaga; grandchildren Katerina, Nikolai, Aleksandr, Anneliese, Maksim Careaga; son, Eli and Deya Wang and grandson Logan Wang.
