Health Department data shows local cases rising
The health departments of Audrain and Boone County have issued updated Coronavirus data.
Audrain, as of December 7, has had 1,117 cases – currently 170 active ones.
None are travel-related and all are due to community transmission. According to Chris Newbrough, ACHD’s emergency planner, 925 of those who contracted the Coronavirus are fully recovered and Audrain County has had 19 deaths from the virus. According to a news release from his office, 18,444 people have been tested for COVID-19, with 17,327 testing negative, or virus-free.
The latest Boone County Department of Health and Senior Service data states there are 400 active cases of COVID-19 in the 65240 zip code and 306 within the Centralia School District.
County-wide there were: 11,126 recorded cases; 1,079 active cases; 10,017 of those who contracted the virus have been released from isolation and 30 deaths.
As of December 7, according to the BCHSD web site, Missouri has had 324,956 cases of Coronavirus, resulting in 3,829 deaths.
