Audrain County has seen its first COVID-19 related death.
According to a June 1, Audrain County Health Department news release, “The Audrain County Health Department is deeply saddened to announce that we were notified today of an Audrain County resident due to COVID-19. Out of respect for privacy, we will not be releasing any further information regarding this patient.”
As of June 1, the release said, approximately 1,047 Audrain County residents had been tested for COVID-19 and 958 of those tests were negative for the virus.
However the department reported the county is the site of 89 confirmed positive cases, 37 active cases – of which six are hospitalized, 52 patients who have recovered and 11 others whose test results are pending.
