Audrain Health hosting new COVID-19 vaccination clinic

The Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) is releasing instructions on how Audrain County residents can get pre-registered for the mass vaccination event at the Mexico Area Family YMCA on Tuesday, April 6.

ACHD Administrator and CEO Craig Brace says the department is using the state’s Vaccine Navigator web site for the pre-registration portion of the event.

“You can register for the event at https://covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator/,” Brace said. “We are requiring pre-registration for this event unlike the first event. We’ve seen that having residents pre-register makes the process run more smoothly and, we want to make this as seamless as possible for our residents to get the vaccination in a timely manner.”

Brace says on the Vaccine Navigator site, you will be asked for the following information.

“The site will collect information on you and your medical history through a series of questions,” he explained. “It will also ask for contact information that you check regularly or receive alerts for when you have a new message. All the information is confidential and will only be shared with those who have a reason to know your information.”

Once on the site, residents need to look for the “Audrain County Mass Vaccination Event – April 6th” listing. If it is not showing up on the available events list, then residents need to select “None of these appointments work for me”.

“What this will do then is put you in a queue to receive a notification email once our event is listed on the Vaccine Navigator site,” Brace said. “Once you receive the notification email that our event is listed on the site, then you can click on the link provided in the notification email and finish your registration for our event.”

Once the Audrain County event is listed on the Vaccine Navigator site, the ACHD will use its social media and regular media outlets to let the residents know the event is live on the site.

Brace says if you do not have access to the Internet or a computer to gain access, do not worry.

“To ensure that the vaccine is available to all Audrain County residents, regardless of internet and computer access, we have staff available to help individuals register through the state COVID-19 hotline,” he explained. “Personnel that will take your registration over the phone are available at (877) 435-8411.”

The Mass Vaccination event will be held at the Mexico Area Family YMCA, located at 1127 Adams Street in Mexico, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6. To cut down on traffic congestion in the area, residents are asked to not arrive early to park. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes ahead of the assigned appointment time.
