Betty Jean Colley

Betty Jean Colley, age 81, of Clark, Missouri, passed away at home surrounded by family on May 12, 2024.

Betty was born on February 2, 1943, in Sturgeon, Missouri, to Henry Johnson Riley and Mable Irene (Barron).

Betty married Homer Colley on July 16, 1960, in Higbee, Missouri.

She graduated from Renick High School in 1960. She worked at Agler Grocery, the Clark School System, H & R Block and Hibbs Tax Service.  She was also the Clark City Collector. She was a member of the Clark Baptist Church 60 years and enjoyed her time as 4-H Leader.

Betty was a great cook, loved to sew, quilt, and garden. She cooked for others, and most importantly, spent time with family and played with grandchildren. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star where she was Past Worthy Matron and Chaplin and District Deputy Grand Matron. Her family and friends will always remember her for her wonderful cooking skills.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mable and father, Henry; son, Kevin Colley; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaleb and Chelsea Barnes; sister, Sue Allen and brother, Billy Riley.

Betty is survived by her husband, Homer, of Clark, Missouri; her children, Billy Colley (Patricia), of Clark, Missouri, Bobby Colley (Penny), of Centralia, Missouri, and Pamela Barnes (Fiancé Daniel Mortmier), of Centralia, Missouri; grandchildren, Danielle Colley, of Centralia, Missouri, Dylan Barnes, of Moberly, Missouri and Chase Barnes (Audri), of Madison, Missouri; great grandchildren, Libby and Eleanor Barnes of Madison, Missouri; siblings, Rita Hartley (Donald) of Columbia, Missouri, Carolyn Dawson (Charlie) of Centralia, Missouri, Helen Riley (Roger Cruzan) of Sturgeon, Missouri, and Marylee Hess of Columbia, Missouri.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, followed by an Eastern Star Service at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, followed by interment at Chapel Grove Cemetery in Clark, MO.
