Boone County offering weekend absentee voting opportunities

The Boone County Clerk’s office will be hosting three weekend absentee voting opportunities in advance of the April 6, municipal election:

Saturday, March 27, 9a.m. to 1p.m. inside the Hy-Vee (Rock Bridge) at 405 E. Nifong in Columbia

Sunday, March 28, 9a.m. to 1p.m. in the parking lot of Parkade Elementary School, 111 Parkade Blvd in Columbia

Saturday April 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boone County Government Center at the corner of 9th and Ash in downtown Columbia

“We want to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to make their voice heard whether they vote absentee or at their polling place,” Boone County Clerk Brianna Lennon said.

Voters can drop off their mailed absentee ballot or vote absentee in-person with a form of ID. Voters may request an absentee ballot for the following reasons:

1. Absence from Boone County on Election Day;

2. Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including a person who is primarily responsible for the physical care of a person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability;

3. Religious belief or practice;

4. Employment as an election authority, as a member of an election authority, or by an election authority at a location other than your polling place;

5. Incarceration, provided all qualifications for voting are retained; or

6. Certified participation in the Secretary of State’s address confidentiality program established under sections 589.660 to 589.661.
