Candidates have filed for several local government and school board offices in the Centralia, Clark, Hallsville and Sturgeon areas.
In the city of Clark, Mayor Lacey McKenzie said her term was expiring as mayor and she had re-filed for that position and Michael Stephens has filed for one of the two open aldermen seats. Another alderman seat and the collector’s position are also open, McKenzie said.
In the city of Centralia, three aldermen seats are up for grabs, Wards I, II and III.
Only one of the seats is contested.
In the race for Ward I Stephen Villarreal is challenging incumbent Ward I Alderman Harold Deckerd for that seat.
