Jacob Shellabarger, Audrain County prosecuting attorney Prosecuting Attorney October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and between our local law enforcement, our community partners like Audrain County Crisis Intervention Services (ACCIS), and our office to ensure that survivors, victims and families affected by domestic violence know that they are heard, respected and protected. Domestic Violence cases require a unique, time-intensive effort for investigation and prosecution, as well as additional accountability for guilty defendants.

This Saturday, you can warm your belly and benefit a pair of important causes at the same time. At 4 p.m. pots will be simmering and the doors open at the Centralia Knights of Columbus Spirit Hall on Hwy. 124 on Centralia's west side. The Knights and Centralia VFW Post 6276 are teaming up to cook crock pots and kettles full of chili and ham and beans, along with tables-full of home-made desserts.

Individuals are invited to a public informational meeting that will share information about the future bridge replacement project on Missouri Route 22 in Audrain and Boone counties. The bridge over Canadian Pacific Kansas City Southern railroad located just west of Missouri Route 151 west junction near Sturgeon, will be replaced in 2027. Right of way will be required for this project. Most construction activities will take place on new alignment away from Route 22. Short-term closures may be necessary to tie Route 22 and Route 151 into the new roadway. The meeting is planned for Tuesday, November 12 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the multipurpose room of Sunnydale Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 6964 Audrain Road 9137, Centralia, Missouri 65240. Details about the project, including a project schedule, will be shared at the meeting through displays and discussions with Missouri Department of Transportation engineers and its consultant, Wilson & Company. The meeting is open-house style, so there will be no formal presentation; attendees can attend anytime between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
