Centralia arranges with Boone County Sheriff’s Department for public safety assistance

Recently, Chief of Police Bob Bias announced his resignation and early retirement effective October 10. As of today, two more officers with the Centralia police department have resigned their duties.

Boone County dispatch is offering an alternative to 911 for contacting law enforcement.

Boone County will be pitching in to help with Centralia law enforcement.

The City is dedicated to continuing to provide quality services to the citizens of Centralia and have contacted the Boone County Sheriff’s department regarding assistance to our officers. They have graciously agreed to assist so that we will not be without quality coverage, as the safety of our officers and our citizens is of utmost importance.

Moving forward,the City plans to continue the search for a new police chief and will look to promote an interim chief from within the ranks of the department. Reviews of applicants for the Chief position has begun and will continue through November 3, 2021.
