With “feels like,” temperatures expected to exceed 100 degrees this week, the Centralia First Baptist Church, the Centralia Library, the City of Centralia and the Centralia Parks Department are all stepping up to help those who need a spot to cool off.
“Our air-conditioners are keeping things really cool,” Amy Hopkins, director of the Centralia Public Library said, “and our water fountain is
pumping out nice cold water. If somebody needs to come in and get cool, we are open until 8 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays. And you are welcome to sign up for our Summer Reading program while you are here.”
