Hallsville Lady Indians win in the opening round of District play. Moberly took the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Hallsville finally got things going in the bottom of the 6th inning with a single from Kristen Jones followed by a single from Maddy Lucas to score Jones. The game went into extra innings tied at 1-1. Bottom of the 8th inning Jones singles again. Delaney Crocker then hits a single to move Jones over to third base. Maddy Lucas comes to the plate and hits a walk-off double to score Jones and Crocker. Abby Leer went the distance in the circle by pitching all 8 innings with 6 strikeouts and only allowing 1 hit.
Centralia and Hallsville play 5 p.m., today at Centralia’s Bicentennial Park.
