Lady Panthers win 54-39, boys win 66-62 in overtime
It was a good night to be a Panther.
The evening of December 1, the CHS Panthers hosted North Callaway for boys- and girls-team varsity action.
The Lady Panthers won 54-39, and were led by Baylee Beard with 19 points, Harper Sonthheimer – 12, and Morgan Ross with eight.
North Callaway led the first quarter 10-9, Centralia led at the half, 24-23 and held on the third, 38-32, before finishing on top
The boys won 66-62 in overtime, with Kile Chitwood cementing the game with a series of OT free-throws. Chitwood led the team in scoring with 21 points, followed by Grant Erisman – 20 and Eli Carter – eight.
North Callaway led the first quarter, 15-11, the teams tied at halftime, 31-31, North Callaway led in the third, 45-44. At the end of the fourth they were tied at 55 and Centralia pulled it off with successful scoring by Chitwood and Erisman.
