A Centralia tradition is carrying on despite Coronavirus concerns.
Sunday, August 16, once again those who could use a little help compiling school supplies for their children will be able to visit the Centralia United Methodist Church for some assistance.
Back packs, pens, pencils, calculators, markers, note-pads, glue-sticks and all the usual school supplies will be on hand.
This year’s event is for children in the Centralia R-VI School District and is from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 16 at the Centralia United Methodist Church on Tarr Street.
In light of social distancing requirements and other Coronavirus considerations, organizers are asking participants to pre-register.
Mary Ann Sander, one of the organizers, said the pre-registration deadline is noon, Thursday, Aug. 13.
“There are several ways you can pre-register,” she said. “Registration forms are available at the church, by the door on the north side and you can also register online at https://tiny.cc/CUMCSchoolSupply2020 .
“If you don’t have a computer or smart phone, they can help you with one of their computers at the Centralia Public Library,” she said.
