Centralia Panther basketball hosts Macon Tigers

Lady Panthers win 45-31, Boys lose 63-43

It was a better night for the Lady Panthers than it was for the boys’ team.

The Lady Panthers avenged their Macon Tournament loss to the Tigerettes by leading all four quarters.

They started on top and stayed there: 8-5 in the first, 22-16 going into halftime; 32-25 in the third and finishing 45-31.

Harper Sontheimer gets airborne.

Jozelynn Bostick led Centralia with 14 points, followed by Harper Sontheimer with 11 and Annie Robinson with eight.

Lexi Miller led Macon and the game with 15.

On the boys’s side of the score book, Centralia led the first quarter 14-13 and was competitive in the second though they went in to halftime behind Macon, 26 to Macon’s 29.

From there Macon pulled away, leading the third 46-35 and finishing up 20, 63 to Centralia’s 43.

Beau Gordon led the team with 16 points, followed by Grant Erisman with 13 and Noah Brooks with six.

Boston Douglas led Macon and the game with 17.

Next up for Centralia is Highland, at Highland Thursday and Monroe City at home on Friday.
