Lady Panthers win, boys lose
Friday night was for intense basketball. At least on Jim Enlow Court at Centralia High School
That is where the Centralia Panthers hosted the Capital City Cavaliers.
Centralia split the difference with their Class VI competition from Jefferson City.
The Lady Panthers won, 55-29.
The boys lost, 66-55.
Baylee Beard led the ladies with 14 points, supported by Morgan Ross and Jozelynn Bostick with 11 each and Ellie Berendzen with seven.
K. James led Capital City with nine.
Centralia dominated all four quarters; leading 20-7 in the first, 30-15 at halftime, 46-24 in the third and capping it off to win, 55-29.
On the boys’ side Grant Erisman led Centralia with a game-high 21. Jackson Wells scored 15 and Kile Chitwood – six.
A. Carson and C. Brown led Capital City with 21 each.
Though they tied the Cavaliers several times, Centralia could never keep the lead and the Cavaliers led at the end of every quarter: 14-6 in the first, 29-20 at halftime, 38-37 in the third and 66-44 in the end.
Centralia hosts Boonville Tuesday night at home.
