School is back in session and so far, despite a few small bumps in the road, the drive back to in-school public education seems to be staying between the ditches.
“So far, so good,” said Steven Chancellor, superintendent of the Centralia R-VI School District.
Chancellor said first day enrollment was: CES: 294, Centralia Intermediate: 289, Chester Boren Middle School: 331, Centralia High School: 420. Total attendance was 96.8 percent; CES – 95.5 percent, CIS – 97.7 percent, CBMS – 96.8 percent, CHS – 97.2 percent.
He said some minor adjustments to the district’s plans had been made, but things were working well. “Sure, there have been some tweaks, but when you run into some bumps, you don’t throw it all away, you adjust it slightly and move on.”
