Summer school in Centralia has begun.
Albeit, a less-crowded, quieter version, agreed Beck Balsamo, the director of this year’s Centralia R-VI summer school program.
The 300 students are taught, four days a week, by 25 teachers and staff he said, 10 teaching at the kindergarten through second-grade levels and eight for the third- through eighth-grade. Additionally, the district employs a 10-member custodial staff to apply a deep cleaning to the classrooms, bathrooms and the rest of the facilities every Friday, Balsamo said.
