The annual project, going on its 14th year is the result of a partnership between the employees of Hubbell Power Systems – Centralia and the Centralia R-VI Champion Academy, with support from Prenger Foods.

Together they provided, Hubbell’s Richard Dickerson said: “71 supplemental Buddy Packs for grades K thru 5th and an additional 5 will go to CHS to supplement what is being collected by Mr. Scott Stone for his high school adopted families.  The rest will be divided between CBMS’ food pantry and the students at Champion who are doing all the labor for the project.”

Each Buddy Pack bag contained, after the seven of Champion Academy’s nine students formed an assembly line in the academy’s conference room to pack them: 1 full size box of cereal, 5 boxes of macaroni and cheese, one box of cereal bars, one box of pop tarts and one six-pack of apple sauce cups.
