They sat with a minimum six feet between them within the cool confines of the Centralia Intermediate School multipurpose room.
That was the setting for the 11 people who attended the April 13 meeting of the Centralia R-VI School Board.
There was room enough to hire new staff during the 19-minute meeting.
They began voting by accepting four resignations, Jim Newsted – weight lifting, Centralia High School head football and track coach; Rachel Renaud – high school and middle school art; Kendra Murphy, algebra and head softball coach; and Kelsey Kolkmeier, third grade.
They also approved the following hires or promotions: employment of extra duty personnel for the 2020-2021 academic year, with board members Justin Romine and Brian Bostick abstaining.
